The research in this proposal investigates the relationship between classroom instruction and student achievement. We classified each grade (5-8) in each partnership school as a high implementing, moderate implementing, or low implementing grade based on the level of implementation of challenging inquiry-based classroom instruction. Our hypothesis is that students in high implementing grades will show more growth in test scores than students in moderate or low implementing grades.
